La Bayadere

Each year, performers from all around the world gather in the Serbian capital for the Belgrade Dance Festival. Under its slogan Together, We Celebrate Dance, the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, offering theatregoers a selection of new and old names during the month-long festival.

Brno National Ballet opened the new season with a lavish production of La Bayadère, a ballet which has become part of the company’s repertoire for the third time in its history. 

I’m meeting Michal Krčmář after more than three years. We are in Brno, where he is preparing for his guest appearance in Jaroslav Slavický’s renewed première of La Bayadère.
